Millstead School

OUR SCHOOL

Here at Millstead School we have 68 pupils on roll, aged between 2 and 11 years old. The children in our school travel from all over the city of Liverpool and our pupils are from many different cultures. All the children at Millstead have a statement of Special Educational Needs which is written as a result of them having either a severe or a profound learning difficulty, along with a wide range of additional needs including: Autistic Spectrum difficulties, severe sensory impairments, physical impairments including cerebral palsy, and profound health needs.

A large percentage of our pupils require additional attention throughout the day to meet their ongoing medical needs; ranging from chest physiotherapy to gastric feeds and tracheotomy care. We have a full time School Health Practitioner and an Assistant School Health Practitioner. We also have Physiotherapists based with us, as the majority of our pupils require skilled physical intervention to help correct posture, alignment and abnormalities of movement and development. A high proportion of our pupils benefit from hydrotherapy, which offers marked physiological, therapeutic and psychological benefits for those whom controlled independent movement is a struggle.

The Classroom.

There are 8 classes here at Millstead with 6-10 children in each class.
All of our children have Individual Education Plans that are set and reassessed by staff in an ongoing cycle as the pupil's progress. Depending on the age and stage of development of the child the targets can range from learning to focus their vision on a shiny object for 5 seconds, to using the Picture Exchange Communication System to make choices and report news. The children's individual targets are addressed throughout the day and across the timetable in a range of practical and motivating activities; parents and family are encouraged to help practise the skills at home as well.

Mission Statement

With Jesus we love, learn and grow. At Much Woolton Catholic Primary School we aim to foster a collaborative and cooperative environment which ...

Woolton High School

Woolton High is a day and residential school for boys aged 13 to 16 years.  We provide a supportive environment where pupils can overcome barriers to learning, develop social and emotional well being and take positive steps towards their next stages of development as young adults.  The headteacher has a good vision for Woolton High School’s continuing success and development, having already taken the school through many successful changes.

Our most recent OSFTED inspection stated that the care, guidance and support we provide is outstanding. Pupils make remarkable gains in social skills and form positive relationships with each other and staff and this contributes to them feeling safe at school.   The extent to which students adopt healthy lifestyles is outstanding because we engage very readily in sporting activities and enjoy the healthy meals provided.  During lessons, in extra-curricular activities and through our Residential Provision, pupils are encouraged to work and play cooperatively. We also provide parental support, health support, homework clubs and a range of activities which promote resilience and enable pupils to develop skills for lifelong learning.

ST.PAUL'S CATHOLIC JUNIOR SCHOOL

SPRING GROVE, WEST DERBY LIVERPOOL - Headteacher Mr.E.Flood

www.spcj.co.uk/

On behalf of everyone at St Paul’s Juniors can I offer a warm welcome to the parents and pupils of our school.

St Paul’s has an excellent reputation and as Headteacher, it is my aim to see that its excellent name and traditions are continued in the years to come.

The children of St. Paul’s are pleasant, cheerful and well behaved; they have zest and character; indeed are a credit to themselves and their families. They are enthusiastic, keen to learn and it is our job, as their teachers, to see that their hopes and aspirations are fulfilled. We will look to provide the very best foundation for the growth and development of your children.

The progress of every child is immensely important to us all, and we hope that our work as teachers will enable them to develop to their fullest potential.

In St. Paul’s we look to create and establish the sort of environment in which pupils of all ages can feel content and comfortable.

In the same way, we seek to forge excellent relationships with parents so that the concept of partnership is seen as the way forward at all times.

Parents should always feel able to contact the school, be it the class teacher or myself, should there be any queries or problems.

We look forward to a long period of successful partnership.

 Head Teacher.

St.Austin's Catholic Primary School

Welcome

Bienvenidos a nuestra colegio!!

Welcome to St. Austin’s School Website.

The first school in St. Austin’s Parish was set up in the crypt of St Austin’s church as long ago as 1838.  There have been many changes in education since then but we remain a Catholic school serving Catholic families mainly, but not exclusively, in the former Canonical Parishes of St Austin’s and St. Bernadette, part of the newly formed Canonical parish of St. Wilfrid’s.

We are a Catholic school whose mission statement drives all aspects of school life.  It is firmly embedded. Our pupils are very happy.  We are a good school with outstanding features.  In 2012-13 we celebrated 10 Years as a centre of Excellence for the teaching of Spanish.

In 2006 we were the first school in the country to achieve recognition as “Colegio del año” - Spanish Primary School of the Year, an external award presented by the Education department of the Spanish Embassy. We continue to promote Spanish and the Hispanic culture and we passionately believe that acquisition and love of language learning will give your children many opportunities in the future.

Your child will be happy at school when he/she feels confident and relaxed in the knowledge that staff and parents are supportive and working together for his/her benefit.  The key is relationships.

It is this relationship based on mutual understanding and trust driven by our belief in and in fulfilling our mission statement that our school is fully inclusive - we are all valued in the eyes of God and each other.  This was acknowledged by the Archdiocese Christian Education Department in our section 48 Religious Education inspection report.  “All who form part of the school community including parents, clergy, governors and children are involved in the continuous development of the Mission Statement. Its aims and practical objectives direct and guide every aspect of school life.”

We like children.

We want them to feel happy, safe and secure.

We want each child to grow in our community liking themselves.

We want them to have fun.

We want them to feel confident to try their best and enjoy.

If this isn’t happening at any time we want you the parent or carer, your child, our staff, our Governors and the wider community to let us know!  If you need any further information please contact the school direct.

We are extremely proud of all our children and thank you all for putting your trust in us to help them on their journey to achieve their full potential.
